ChainCatcher reported, citing Coinglass data, that BTC’s current network-wide 8-hour average funding rate stands at 0.0007%. The figure refers to the funding rate in the perpetual futures market and reflects the fee settlement level between long and short positions across trading venues. The reported metric is based on the current 8-hour average for BTC across the broader market.
Among the major exchanges listed in the data, Binance shows a BTC funding rate of 0.0003%, while OKX records -0.0011%. Bybit’s rate is 0.005%, and Gate’s rate is 0.0062%. Within this group, OKX is the only exchange showing a negative funding rate, while Binance, Bybit and Gate are all in positive territory.
The funding rate is not the spot price of BTC. It is a mechanism used in perpetual contracts and serves as a reference for fee transfers between market participants holding opposing positions. The Coinglass figures therefore provide a snapshot of current BTC funding rate differences across the named exchanges at the time of reporting.
