According to data from Coinglass, the Bitcoin (BTC) 8-hour average funding rate across the entire network has reached -0%. A funding rate is a mechanism used in perpetual futures markets to balance long and short positions. When the rate is positive, longs pay shorts; when negative, shorts pay longs. A rate close to zero generally signals that market participants are not strongly biased in one direction and that sentiment remains stable.
Among major exchanges, the funding rates show only slight variations. Binance's rate stands at -0.0011%, a tiny negative value, while Bybit is also negative at -0.0001%. In contrast, OKX shows a positive 0.0002%, and Gate.io registers a relatively higher 0.002%. These minor differences may stem from each platform's unique position structure and user behavior, but the overall hover around zero reinforces the picture of no extreme market positioning.
With such low rates, neither longs nor shorts face significant funding costs, which can reduce carry expenses. However, it also indicates the absence of a clear one-sided trend signal in the current market.
