Quantum technology firm BTQ Technologies has launched 'Bitcoin Quantum,' a real-time post-quantum network built on Bitcoin's architecture, and completed the first BIP 360 work implementation. The company also acquired quantum software firm QPerfect, integrating its MIMIQ and QLU technologies into its ecosystem. The move aims to address the potential threat quantum computing poses to Bitcoin's security.
BTQ Technologies, a quantum tech company, says it has launched Bitcoin Quantum, a real-time post-quantum network built on Bitcoin’s architecture, and finished the first implementation work for BIP 360. BIP 360 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal 360) is a proposal to improve the Bitcoin protocol; this implementation is the first practical use of post-quantum cryptography within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
And BTQ has also wrapped up its acquisition of QPerfect, a quantum software firm, adding its MIMIQ and QLU technologies to the company’s ecosystem.
BTQ Technologies is focused on innovation in quantum computing and cryptographic technology. The Bitcoin Quantum network is meant to strengthen the blockchain against quantum computing attacks by bringing in post-quantum cryptography and tackling the possible security threat quantum computing poses to Bitcoin.
