Crypto exchange Bybit said it has launched a locally operated platform in Indonesia after acquiring a majority stake in digital asset company PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal. The company, previously known as NOBI, has been renamed Bybit Indonesia following the transaction. Bybit said services will be rolled out in phases, with 500 cryptocurrency trading pairs available in the first batch. The new unit will be led by CEO Lawrence Samantha and COO Dionisius Evan, both of whom previously held executive roles at NOBI. Data from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority show that the country had 21.07 million registered crypto asset users as of February 2026, while total crypto transaction value reached $26.85 billion in 2025. As of April, Indonesia had licensed 31 crypto-related entities, including PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal.
