According to Odaily Planet Daily, on Monday, investors sold off shares of the "Magnificent Seven" tech giants, while SpaceX also plunged 16%, marking its third consecutive decline. Against this backdrop, a notable shift in retail investor behavior has emerged.
Liz Ann Sonders, chief investment strategist at Charles Schwab, stated that areas related to artificial intelligence and technology remain a focus for retail investors. She noted that while retail investors were previously highly active in individual stock trading, their approach has changed, now leaning more toward trading tech ETFs rather than single stocks. Sonders emphasized that this does not indicate a loss of interest in the broader tech or AI sectors, but rather a change in preference.
Sonders also added that corporate earnings remain the most important fundamental factor supporting stocks. This suggests that despite the shift toward ETF trading, market fundamentals continue to play a core role in investor decisions.
