Circle’s USDC stablecoin and its Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) have been deployed on the Pharos Layer 1 blockchain, marking a significant step in Pharos’ effort to build what it describes as an inclusive global settlement layer for RealFi. By integrating a transparent, fully reserved, dollar-denominated asset at the protocol level, the network is strengthening its base for real-world financial use cases on-chain.
According to the announcement, USDC is expected to serve as a core settlement and collateral asset across the Pharos ecosystem. The target use cases include tokenized real-world assets, DeFi trading and lending, and global payment flows. For Pharos, the move is less about adding another stablecoin and more about embedding a trusted settlement instrument that can support more institution-oriented financial applications.
Cross-chain connectivity expands the network’s role
The integration of CCTP adds built-in interoperability to Pharos. The protocol reportedly connects the network to more than 20 blockchains and enables over 400 secure transaction routes. That allows USDC to move across chains without relying on third-party bridges or wrapped assets, a feature intended to preserve asset integrity while improving capital efficiency.
Pharos has framed this architecture as a way to address structural issues in on-chain finance, including fragmented liquidity, uneven infrastructure standards, and regulatory silos. With smoother USDC transfers, the network is positioning itself as a hub for cross-chain liquidity and the distribution of tokenized RWAs.
Developer incentives arrive alongside infrastructure
For builders, the deployment opens the door to applications such as regulation-aligned lending markets, structured financial products, and always-on payment networks. The announcement follows Pharos’ broader RealFi Alliance initiative, which has been focused on research, data, and institutional infrastructure coordination.
Pharos has also launched a $10 million incubator program to support early-stage teams building native applications on the network, particularly in DeFi and RWA-related sectors. Wish Wu of the Pharos Foundation said RealFi requires both reliable settlement and global accessibility, and argued that combining USDC with CCTP can bring institutional-grade credibility to Pharos while making that access available to developers and users worldwide.
