OpenAI’s Codex has reached 25 million active users, and the company marked the milestone by resetting usage allocations for all paid Codex and ChatGPT Work customers for the second consecutive day. The latest reset follows one the previous day, when OpenAI stepped in over eight categories of abnormal quota consumption. After that first reset, Tibo, OpenAI’s head of core products, said the planned milestone celebration had to be pushed to today because the reset button had already been pressed. The second reset has now arrived as promised. Codex has been adding users quickly. On August 21, Tibo announced the product passed 20 million active users and gave users a storable quota reset. In the ten days since, the user base has grown by another 5 million, bringing the total to 25 million. Tibo also joked that more news from “The Reset Company” would be coming soon. For paid users, that means two quota resets in two days.
