Coinbase has released a system-wide upgrade focused on bringing AI capabilities and a wider range of assets into a single app. The upgrade introduces an AI investment adviser and AI agent trade execution, with the platform aiming to place trading, investing, spending, and lending within one integrated financial service framework.
AI functions meet broader asset coverage
On the asset side, Coinbase is integrating tokenized stocks, Pre-IPO perpetual contracts, thematic equity indices, stock options, and crypto options. This creates a product mix that covers equity-linked instruments as well as crypto-related derivatives. The AI investment adviser is tied to investment functions, while AI agent trade execution is designed for the execution side of trading.
The upgrade also strengthens Coinbase’s global unified liquidity pool, USDC-collateralized credit card, staking and lending protections, and Base ecosystem infrastructure. According to the description of the rollout, Coinbase’s objective is to build an integrated “Everything Exchange” financial platform spanning trading, investing, spending, and lending.
