Coinbase has announced a system-wide upgrade designed to bring AI functions and a broader range of assets into one app. The update introduces an AI investment adviser and AI agent-based trade execution, placing automated investment assistance and transaction execution at the center of the product structure.

The upgrade also expands the asset scope Coinbase aims to support. The platform is integrating tokenized stocks, Pre-IPO perpetual contracts, thematic equity indexes, stock options and crypto options. In this structure, equity-linked products, derivatives and crypto assets are presented within the same framework rather than as separate trading experiences.

Coinbase is also strengthening several infrastructure and service layers, including a global unified liquidity pool, a USDC-collateralized credit card, staking and lending protection, and Base ecosystem infrastructure. Together, these components are intended to support an integrated “Everything Exchange” financial platform covering trading, investing, spending and borrowing.
