Coinbase has appointed Rob Witoff as its new chief technology officer. According to Foresight News, Witoff first joined Coinbase in 2014 as an infrastructure engineer. From 2014 to 2017, he served as director of infrastructure and security before moving up to chief architect. He returned to Coinbase in December 2024 as head of platform and joined the company’s executive team. The appointment marks another leadership move inside Coinbase’s technology organization, with Witoff now taking the CTO role after previously holding several senior engineering and architecture positions at the exchange.
