Coinbase Derivatives and Coinbase Financial Markets filed with the SEC on September 1 to launch single-stock perpetual futures in the U.S. Chief Policy Officer Faryar Shirzad said the products still need CFTC approval. The offering, already available to non-U.S. users with 10x leverage on Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla stocks, settles in USDC and operates 24/7.

Coinbase Derivatives and Coinbase Financial Markets, both subsidiaries of the crypto exchange, filed Form 1-N and Form BD-N with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on September 1. The filings seek to launch single-stock perpetual futures in the United States, offering round-the-clock trading to American users.

Faryar Shirzad, chief policy officer at Coinbase, said the products still require approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The two forms cover registration as a securities futures exchange and a limited-purpose securities futures broker-dealer, respectively.

Since March 20, Coinbase has already offered 10x perpetual futures on stocks such as Apple, Nvidia, and Tesla to non-U.S. users, settling in USDC and supporting 24/7 trading. U.S. users were previously excluded from that product.
