ChainCatcher reported, citing Coinglass data, that total liquidations across the crypto market reached $291 million over the past 24 hours. Long positions accounted for $179 million of the total, while short positions accounted for $112 million. Liquidation generally refers to the forced closing of leveraged positions when margin is insufficient, so the figures show the scale of long and short positions that were closed during the 24-hour period.
By asset, Bitcoin long liquidations totaled $50.4853 million, while Bitcoin short liquidations reached $34.6371 million. Ethereum long liquidations stood at $39.6743 million, and Ethereum short liquidations reached $30.6454 million. Coinglass data also showed that 81,094 traders worldwide were liquidated in the latest 24-hour window. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance - BTCUSDT, with a value of $4.9661 million.
