According to ChainCatcher, citing data from Coinglass, total liquidations across the crypto market reached $578 million over the past 24 hours. Long liquidations accounted for $496 million, while short liquidations totaled $82.415 million. The figures show that liquidated positions during this 24-hour period were concentrated mainly on the long side.
Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation details
By asset, Bitcoin long liquidations amounted to $173 million, while Bitcoin short liquidations stood at $18.3288 million. Ethereum long liquidations reached $118 million, and Ethereum short liquidations were $18.8189 million. For both Bitcoin and Ethereum, long liquidations were higher than short liquidations during the reported period.
Coinglass data also shows that 138,834 traders worldwide were liquidated over the past 24 hours. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance’s ETHUSDT trading pair, with a value of $7.4075 million. In derivatives trading, liquidation generally refers to the forced closure of a position when the account’s margin is insufficient.
