ChainCatcher reported, citing Coinglass data, that total liquidations across the crypto market reached $199 million over the past 24 hours. Of that amount, long positions accounted for $104 million, while short positions accounted for $95.1618 million. The data shows that both sides of leveraged trading saw sizeable forced liquidations during the period, with long liquidations slightly exceeding short liquidations.
Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation breakdown
By asset, Bitcoin-related positions recorded $22.0274 million in long liquidations and $43.2401 million in short liquidations. Ethereum-related positions recorded $19.9708 million in long liquidations and $22.5783 million in short liquidations. These figures place Bitcoin and Ethereum among the main assets represented in the latest liquidation data.
Coinglass also reported that 69,058 traders globally were liquidated during the same 24-hour window. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance - ETHUSDT, with a value of $3.3122 million. Liquidation generally refers to the forced closing of a leveraged position when margin becomes insufficient, making the data a measure of short-term clearing activity in leveraged crypto trading.
