The PayFi sector dropped 4.15% in 24 hours, with XRP falling 3.26% and Stellar (XLM) plunging 11.45%, although Ultima (ULTIMA) managed a 2.79% gain against the tide.
Major Coins and Layer Sectors Under Pressure
Bitcoin (BTC) slipped 3.60%, breaking below the $71,000 threshold, while Ethereum (ETH) lost 0.92% and dipped under $2,000. The Layer1 sector overall declined 1.09%, yet NEAR Protocol (NEAR) rallied 14.22% intraday. The CeFi sector fell 1.47%, with Binance Coin (BNB) down 1.94%. Layer2 sector lost 2.31%, but Optimism (OP) showed resilience with a 2.88% uptick.
SocialFi and AI Sectors Defy the Trend
In stark contrast, the SocialFi sector surged 7.03%, with Toncoin (TON) gaining 4.18% and Chiliz (CHZ) adding 5.71%. The AI sector also rose 3.13%, led by Worldcoin (WLD) which soared 18.53%.
The DeFi sector advanced 2.98%, with Hyperliquid (HYPE) up 1.76% and LAB (LAB) exploding 64.79%. The Meme sector edged up 1.09%, with Siren (SIREN) jumping 15.38%. Crypto sector indices reflecting historical performance further highlighted the divergence: the ssiSocialFi index climbed 7.22%, ssiAI rose 1.87%, and ssiMeme increased 1.31%.
