Odaily reported that CZ joined the Galaxy Brains podcast for an interview with Alex Thorn, Galaxy’s head of research, where he discussed his current focus, new BNB Chain functions, the development of RWA products, and the long-term relationship between crypto and traditional finance. CZ said he is no longer operating an exchange platform, which has given him more time to communicate with developers. Because of that, he said he is excited about some of the new features being developed for BNB Chain.

BNB Chain’s Next Version Focuses on Speed, Cost and Privacy Controls

During the interview, CZ said BNB Chain is developing its next version. According to his comments, the new version will deliver faster speed, lower costs and more privacy control features. His description places the emphasis on three areas of blockchain infrastructure that directly affect user experience: transaction processing speed, fee levels and the degree of control users have over privacy-related functions.

CZ also explained that, since he is no longer handling exchange operations, he has more time to speak with developers about products and technical features. In his remarks, the upcoming BNB Chain version was not presented as a single performance improvement. Instead, it was described as a broader upgrade that combines higher speed, lower transaction costs and expanded privacy controls.

RWA Growth Has Exceeded His Earlier Expectations

CZ also addressed real-world assets, or RWA, during the discussion. He said that one to one and a half years ago, he had been skeptical about RWA and was not sure whether these assets would generate enough trading demand. However, he noted that RWA products such as stablecoins, oil futures and AI stocks have developed faster than expected. In his view, this shows that real global demand exists for access to these types of assets.

He further stated that crypto should not be treated as a separate industry, but rather as a technology tool that can make financial transactions faster, cheaper and more transparent. CZ said the boundary between traditional finance and the crypto industry will gradually disappear in the future, eventually forming a more globalized financial system with higher efficiency and lower costs.
