DimAgent founder Han Cheng has open-sourced Rutis, a plugin runtime he said will support the project’s next architecture. Rutis reimplements the core design of Cordis in Rust. Cordis is the underlying plugin framework used by DeepSeek Harness to manage components including models, tools, sessions, and the Agent Loop. Under that design, each component can be packaged as a plugin and only needs to declare the services it requires and provides, while the framework handles startup, unloading, dependency changes, and resource cleanup. Rutis brings that mechanism into Rust while adding support for TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python plugins. Plugins written in different languages can call one another, and they can also run across different processes and machines. Existing Cordis plugins can connect directly as well, without requiring a full rewrite.
