ChainCatcher, citing Jinshi, reported that the U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the dollar against six major currencies, declined 0.1% on June 12 and closed at 99.852 in late foreign-exchange trading. The figure captured the dollar’s overall performance against a basket of major currencies during the session.
European currencies moved higher against the U.S. dollar. One euro traded at 1.1558 dollars, up from 1.1548 dollars in the previous trading session. One British pound traded at 1.3398 dollars, also higher than the previous session’s 1.338 dollars. At the same time, one U.S. dollar bought 0.797 Swiss francs, down from 0.7994 Swiss francs in the prior session.
Among other major currency pairs, one U.S. dollar traded at 160.08 Japanese yen, lower than 160.5 yen in the previous trading session. One U.S. dollar bought 1.3981 Canadian dollars, up from 1.3937 Canadian dollars. Against the Swedish krona, one U.S. dollar traded at 9.4759 krona, down from 9.4948 krona in the prior session.
