The Douyin app has also added a new recommendation-page format called interest cards, which are used to display AI applications created through AI Workshop. Users can encounter these cards directly in the recommendation feed without jumping to a mini program or leaving the main app. Within the feed, they can complete tasks such as question-and-answer queries, light interactive experiences and simple tool usage.

Creators with no coding knowledge can describe ideas in natural language to build applications, while developers can modify underlying files for deeper customization.
