According to the latest data from El Salvador's Ministry of Finance, the country has purchased an additional 8 Bitcoin over the past seven days. This brings El Salvador's total Bitcoin holdings to 7,696.37 BTC, valued at approximately $461 million at current market prices.
As the first nation to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, El Salvador has been consistently buying Bitcoin through open market operations since September 2021. Despite repeated calls from international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to halt these purchases, the government continues its regular accumulation strategy, stating a long-term holding intention.
Although 8 BTC is a modest addition, it underscores the country's disciplined approach to Bitcoin treasury management. Market analysts view this steady accumulation as a potential signal to other sovereign states considering digital asset reserves, reinforcing El Salvador's commitment to its Bitcoin experiment.
