Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said Anthropic’s valuation has increased 22 times since June 2024, based on market value estimates derived from disclosures by mutual funds that hold the company. He said that pace of growth is roughly 10 times that of the Nasdaq 100 and Nvidia over the same period. Balchunas also noted that Fidelity has the largest exposure to Anthropic among the funds mentioned, followed by CapGrp and BLK. Even so, the benefit to mutual funds has been limited because their portfolio weights in the company remain relatively small. The comment points to how sharply Anthropic’s private-market valuation has climbed, while also showing that listed fund investors may not capture much of that upside when the position size is modest.

Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said Anthropic’s valuation has climbed 22-fold since June 2024, based on market value estimates drawn from disclosures by mutual funds holding the company.

He said that increase is about 10 times the gain seen in the Nasdaq 100 and Nvidia. Balchunas added that Fidelity has the largest exposure to Anthropic, followed by CapGrp and BLK. Because those holdings carry relatively low portfolio weights, mutual funds have benefited only modestly from Anthropic’s valuation growth.
