Ethereum developers confirmed during the ACDC #186 call that the Glamsterdam upgrade is scheduled to activate on the Sepolia testnet at 13:53 UTC on Oct. 6, according to Christine D. Kim. The date, however, is not fully locked in. The latest private test network, Glamsterdam-Devnet-9, has not yet reached stability, and developers identified a serious consensus-layer flaw that could halt block production across the network. On the execution side, EIP-8037 also has a bug that still needs to be fixed. A Devnet-10 release is planned in the coming weeks, and if that environment remains unstable, the Sepolia activation could be delayed. The activation schedules for the Hoodi testnet and Ethereum mainnet have not been determined. As a result, the goal of launching the upgrade on mainnet before the end of the year remains uncertain.

Ethereum developers confirmed during the ACDC #186 call that the Glamsterdam upgrade is set to activate on the Sepolia testnet at 13:53 UTC on Oct. 6, according to Christine D. Kim.

The schedule still carries significant uncertainty. The latest private test network, Glamsterdam-Devnet-9, has not yet stabilized. Developers found a serious bug in the consensus layer that could stop block production across the entire network, while EIP-8037 on the execution layer also has a bug that needs to be fixed.

Developers plan to roll out Devnet-10 in the coming weeks. If Devnet-10 is still unstable, the Sepolia activation date may be pushed back.

The activation timelines for the Hoodi testnet and Ethereum mainnet have not been determined. That leaves the target of getting the upgrade onto mainnet before year-end still in doubt.
