Ethereum’s well-known MEV Bot address Jaredfromsubway.eth has been hit by a targeted “anti-MEV honeypot attack,” with losses exceeding $7.5 million. The address is known for automated on-chain trading behavior designed to capture MEV opportunities, but in this incident it became the target of a setup built specifically around that automation.
A trap built with 66 fake contracts and liquidity pools
According to the reported incident details, the attackers deployed 66 fake contracts and liquidity pools that were disguised as mainstream assets. These contracts and pools were used to lure the Bot into automatically executing trades. During that process, the Bot was induced to grant permissions, after which the attackers used a backdoor to steal assets.
The case is notable because the attack did not only involve a loss of more than $7.5 million from a single address. It targeted the behavioral logic of an advanced MEV system: automatic execution, transaction response, and permission authorization. For top MEV robots, the same speed and automation that support on-chain profit extraction can also become a security exposure when attackers design traps around those behaviors.
