Glue Finance founder recently stated that Ethereum (ETH) has entered a non-consensus phase and a turning point is approaching. He pointed out that although Ethereum's technology continues to evolve and usage surges, the protocol is not yet completed and the core is not frozen. It still relies heavily on centralized forces such as the Ethereum Foundation for guidance, causing ETH prices to be under long-term pressure.
To break this deadlock, the founder proposed 'Slim Ethereum' (also known as the 'Manhattan Project') as the only way out. This plan includes key reforms such as freezing the consensus layer, quantum-resistant upgrades, and native Rollups. The goal is to achieve full decentralization and reliable neutrality. Ultimately, the Ethereum network must pass the 'drop test' — operating autonomously without any centralized intervention — thereby earning a perpetual premium.
This viewpoint has sparked discussions in the crypto community. If Ethereum can successfully undergo this transformation, it could have a profound impact on the entire public chain ecosystem. The proposal highlights ongoing debates about Ethereum's development roadmap and the balance between centralization and decentralization.
