France’s National Assembly finance committee has approved three cryptocurrency-related amendments during its review of the 2027 budget bill, while one proposal has been rejected and several others remain under discussion. According to Odaily, the committee put forward 10 crypto amendments and has been reviewing them since Oct. 7. So far, measures that would tax stablecoin exchange transactions, impose a crypto exit tax, and allow crypto asset losses to be carried forward for 10 years have passed at the committee stage. A separate proposal to extend the personal wealth tax to crypto assets was voted down. Other measures tied to self-custody wallet reporting requirements and platform penalties are still being examined. None of the amendments has formally become law at this stage, and all still require further review before they can take effect.

France’s National Assembly finance committee has signed off on three cryptocurrency-related amendments while reviewing the 2027 budget bill, according to Odaily.

The committee put forward 10 crypto-related amendments and has been reviewing them since Oct. 7. So far, three have cleared the bar, and one has been turned down.

The measures that got approved: a tax on stablecoin exchange transactions, a crypto exit tax, and a rule that lets crypto asset losses be carried forward for 10 years.

But a proposal to expand the personal wealth tax to crypto assets was rejected. Other measures—covering reporting requirements for some self-custody wallets and penalties for platforms—are still being reviewed.

And none of these measures has formally become law yet. More deliberation is still needed.
