Gate founder and CEO Dr. Han announced the launch of Gate Money during a keynote speech at TOKEN2049 on Oct. 7, introducing a new product the company says is built to connect assets, funds and payments under one account.
Framed around the slogan "One Gate, Everything Money," Gate Money is positioned as an integrated financial services application linking digital assets, fiat currencies, stocks, ETFs, gold, bank accounts, payments and asset management services. Gate said the product covers asset holding, receiving funds, transfers, payments, conversion and yield, marking an expansion from digital asset trading into a broader set of financial services.
Users can activate Gate Money with one click after updating the Gate App to version v8.39.0, according to the announcement.
One account for multiple asset types
Gate said Gate Money allows users to hold multiple fiat currencies and digital assets within the same account system, while viewing balances and fund movements in one place. The platform supports fiat deposits and withdrawals, as well as on-chain deposits and transfers.
Fiat accounts can be managed separately by currency. Eligible users can also upgrade to obtain a named bank account, allowing them to receive funds and withdraw money using their own account details for everyday and cross-border transfers.
Gate added that it already offers access to traditional financial assets such as stocks and is continuing to expand into additional asset categories. For users holding different types of assets at the same time, Gate Money is meant to place those services inside a clearer account structure and make asset and cash management more centralized.
Payments tied to everyday spending
On the payments side, Gate Money connects the account directly to daily spending. Through Gate Card, users can spend either fiat or digital assets online and offline, with support for digital wallets including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
In some countries and regions, the service also supports ATM cash withdrawals and local QR-code payments. Gate said this is intended to match payment habits across different markets, from online shopping to in-store purchases.
Convert and Earn features included
Beyond asset holding and payments, Gate Money includes Convert and Earn. Convert supports exchanges between different assets, while Earn offers wealth management and yield products.
Gate said eligible balances including USDT can earn up to 3.6% without lock-up. The company described the setup as giving users a way to keep assets liquid while still having access to additional allocation options. Assets that need to remain available can be converted at any time, while idle balances can be placed into yield products based on the applicable product rules.
Broader financial service coverage
According to Gate, Gate Money brings together the company’s existing product capabilities across digital assets, stocks, payments and asset management. It places asset holding, receiving funds, transfers, payments, conversion and yield inside one account structure, connecting portfolio management, fund movement and everyday spending more closely.
The company said the service is intended to extend its reach from trading and asset management into payments, fund management and day-to-day financial use cases, covering needs that range from cash and digital assets to stocks and other financial products.
Licenses and financial infrastructure
Gate said its financial services buildout is supported by financial, payment and virtual asset licenses and authorizations obtained in multiple core jurisdictions, forming the compliance base behind Gate Money’s multi-asset, fund flow and payment functions.
According to the announcement, Gate entities have obtained a MiCA crypto-asset service license and a PSD2 payment institution license in Malta, secured a full virtual asset service provider operating license from Dubai’s VARA, completed registration for digital currency exchange services in Australia, and conduct related business through local compliant entities in markets including Japan. Gate said its compliance coverage spans 81 regulated jurisdictions worldwide.
The company said those approvals cover areas including crypto asset trading and custody, digital currency services and payments, providing the regulatory foundation for multi-asset management, fiat accounts, fund collection and disbursement, and everyday payments within Gate Money.
Gate also said it has established partnerships with multiple international payment institutions, banks, custody providers and clearing institutions across payments, funds, asset custody and clearing, supporting operations in different markets.
