According to Odaily, the fourth episode of Gate’s podcast series Gatecast featured Ondo Finance Global Head of Business Development Min Lin as a guest in a discussion titled “What will be the breakthrough in the RWA sector?” The interview centered on tokenized assets, institutional adoption, and the ongoing buildout of onchain financial infrastructure.
Lin said traditional finance is accelerating its move toward blockchain. A few years ago, Bitcoin and tokenized assets were still widely questioned. Now, he said, multiple top global financial institutions have started actively exploring ways to bring assets onchain.
Blockchain’s value goes beyond digitizing assets
Lin said the transition from traditional finance, or TradFi, to crypto finance is not just a change in asset format. He pointed to blockchain’s shared ledger, instant settlement, and higher transparency as the more important shift. In his view, those features could improve efficiency across global financial markets and push the financial system toward a more open and inclusive structure.
Ondo highlights OUSG and USDY
During the program, Lin also introduced Ondo’s OUSG, which is aimed at institutional users, and USDY, which is designed for a broader user base. He said the products are built to deliver onchain yield to users in a more transparent manner.
Tokenized stocks and ETFs seen as a potential next growth leg
On the next stage of RWA growth, Lin said tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds, or ETFs, carry significant potential. He noted that the U.S. stock market alone is worth about $69 trillion. If instant minting and redemption can be used to connect with the deep liquidity available in TradFi markets, he said, global access to tokenized assets could expand further.
Gatecast is positioned by Gate as a long-form interview program for global Web3 users and will continue inviting industry figures to share their views. Gate also said it will keep tracking innovation in RWA and tokenized assets, with the goal of improving the connection between traditional finance and the crypto ecosystem and offering users more open and convenient digital asset services.
