An X user operating under the name CyberLeek posted leaked Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay footage alongside the ticker for a crypto token, $CYBERLEEK, and used the material to promote the asset as part of what they described as a secret project.

Protos reported that CyberLeek shared GTA VI gameplay footage yesterday together with the token ticker. The posts included details about the game’s map and clips of free-roam gameplay. By the time of writing, the material could no longer be viewed on X after a copyright strike from Rockstar Games, the creator of the title.
Token framed as fundraising for an undisclosed project
CyberLeek said the token was created to raise money for a “secret project” that could not be disclosed. In their words, revealing details would only give “big corporations” time to build defenses.
Onlookers speculated that the posts may also have revealed a new gas meter and a morality system in GTA VI. Protos noted a prior case in which bitcoin spiked after a GTA VI trailer leak carried the message “Buy $BTC.”
CyberLeek wrote: “Let it be absolutely clear: this is not a cash grab. Funding is directed toward the infrastructure needed to strike, as well as the security and protection required to withstand the inevitable corporate counterattacks.”
Those posts pushed the token’s market cap up almost 5,800% within an hour to $3.46 million, according to the report. At the time of writing, its market cap stood at $1.5 million.
Website cites grievances with gaming industry practices
According to CyberLeek’s website, the leaks stem from grievances over what it calls anti-consumer practices in the video game industry. The site says CyberLeek will target any gaming company that sells digital pre-orders, locks single-player content behind a paywall, and does not work to preserve long-term offline access to single-player content.
On pre-orders, CyberLeek argues: “Pre-orders were created because physical discs had manufacturing limits. In digital distribution, there is no inventory. There is no stock shortage. A digital copy cannot sell out. Yet publishers kept the preorder system and stripped away its only consumer benefit.”

CyberLeek has also threatened to leak more footage unless Rockstar Games meets their demands.
No-disc GTA VI release adds to the dispute
Protos said GTA VI will be the first major game to launch without a disc. Its digital pre-orders will be in unlimited supply, while Rockstar’s “physical” release will come as a redeemable code packaged inside a game box.
In a CNN video, video game journalist Gene Park described the shift as a consumer rights issue. Protos added that GTA VI’s release plan, together with Sony’s decision to stop producing game discs, has triggered lawsuits and backlash from players who support physical media and game preservation.
