ChainCatcher, citing on-chain analyst Ember, reported that a hacker address bought 18,273 ETH over the past five hours using 38.535 million DAI and USDS, at an average purchase price of $2,109. The stablecoins used in the transaction were traced back to holdings created after the address sold ETH about nine months ago. According to the report, those earlier ETH funds had originally been received from Tornado Cash. The hacker later sold the ETH at an average price of about $3,308 and converted the proceeds into DAI and USDS for holding. During today’s ETH rebound, the address moved back into ETH, completing a round-trip trade from ETH to stablecoins and then back to ETH.
