Harvard University said in its annual financial report that its endowment gained 27.1% in fiscal 2026, marking its strongest investment return in five years. The fund’s total size is now close to $68 billion. In the report, Chief Financial Officer Ritu Kalra and Treasurer Timothy Barakett said the return would strengthen the endowment’s long-term ability to support the university, with the benefits flowing through future distributions over time. Harvard also disclosed in its second-quarter 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that it held $2.2 billion worth of SpaceX shares, its largest single position by market value. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. ranked next, with a holding valued at slightly less than $350 million. The update follows an earlier disclosure that the Harvard fund had already begun investing in cryptocurrencies in 2018.
