Binance co-CEO He Yi has released a Hong Kong vlog showing her workday from early morning to late at night, giving a rare public look at her schedule. She said she had slept for about three hours the night before, yet still moved through filming, a podcast interview, a panel at Web3 Festival, several client meetings and evening industry events before wrapping up her public itinerary at 11:41 p.m.
An early start after three hours of sleep
Speaking to the camera in the morning, He Yi said, 「Now another day has started. I slept for three hours.」 She said she had just arrived in Hong Kong and was still dealing with jet lag, adding that she was worried she might become sleepy later in the day.
She also said this was not her normal routine. According to He Yi, she usually goes out only a few times a year for major events, and when she does travel, she tries to group the people she needs to meet into the same city and the same period.
He Yi said she has grown used to staying at home and meeting her team online, and that going out now can even make her feel socially anxious. Even so, what she described as 「not a very full schedule today」 included morning filming, two interviews, one festival panel, different types of client meetings in the afternoon, and B2G and industry gatherings at night.
Morning stops: filming and a podcast interview
After changing clothes, He Yi first went into a filming session and then headed straight to a podcast interview. The host said many female listeners see her as a role model. Some, the host added jokingly, look to her as a reference point if they want to become a 「female lead」 figure or simply want to become rich.
He Yi replied that this was not an image she had deliberately built. Instead, she said colleagues around her often say, 「None of us wants to become He Yi. It’s too tiring.」 In her view, people on the outside usually see the position and the outcome, but once someone sits in that seat, the burden of responsibility becomes much larger.
In another public appearance during the day, she listed courage, awareness, execution and ambition as qualities she considers important. She added that for both men and women, wanting success and wanting a better life is nothing to be ashamed of.
Web3 Festival: from 1 billion users to 3 billion
After the morning schedule ended, He Yi went to Hong Kong Web3 Festival. There she said Binance had often talked in the past about a goal of 1 billion users, but that starting this year she had begun putting forward a new idea to the team, one that she said might sound a little crazy from the outside: Binance should pursue becoming a company with 3 billion users.
She said Binance cannot remain only a cryptocurrency exchange if it wants to reach that scale. Instead, the company needs to develop toward becoming global financial infrastructure.
Over the longer term, she said, the company needs to answer what it has done for financial freedom in the world, what it has done for financial inclusion, and whether it has truly made life better for more ordinary people.
Afternoon interviews and client meetings
After the event, He Yi did not stop to rest and instead moved on to another interview. By later in the afternoon, the effects of sleep deprivation had become more obvious. She said her lower back had started to hurt and added that the day felt more tiring than the previous one, 「maybe because I didn’t sleep well.」
Her schedule still did not slow down. At one point, when the driver had to change shifts because of working hours, He Yi joked to the camera, 「Even the driver changed shifts, and I still haven’t changed shifts.」
VIP event: who is He Yi without the title
In the evening, He Yi attended a small VIP event. The host asked how she would introduce herself if every social label and every title she carried that day were removed.
Her answer was direct: 「A person who keeps breaking through her own limits.」 She said she came 「from a low place,」 which is why she understands the real pressure and reality of the world.
As for people who want to become He Yi, she said, 「There’s nothing wrong with trying,」 but what matters is whether a person knows what they are good at, what they are not good at, and whether they can find the path that suits them and keep walking it with conviction.
She also used a vivid line: 「If knives fall from the sky, you can still carry on through it.」 In her view, people do not fully know who they are at the beginning. They gradually discover their real abilities and place through repeated collisions and interactions with the world.
Night gathering and an unexpected formal reception
Later that night, He Yi thought the final stop would be a casual industry OG gathering, so she showed up wearing slippers. When the elevator doors opened, however, she found herself at a formal cocktail reception instead.
What caught her off guard even more was that someone immediately invited her to come up and say a few words. She recalled that in that moment she felt numb again and could only grab a few bites of food to restore some energy before finishing the last stretch of social commitments.
She joked that this was what a 「busy day for an overbearing CEO」 looks like. Still, she added that she did not actually think the schedule itself had been especially packed, and that her physical condition simply was not that good that day.
11:41 p.m.: public schedule ends, follow-up work continues
When the final gathering ended, it was already late. He Yi still did not go straight to rest. She said she had added many WeChat contacts across the day’s events and needed to process them one by one after returning to where she was staying, because 「otherwise they will think you are arrogant.」
On top of that, she said she still needed to check social media to see whether any new complaints or issues had appeared in the market. It was not until 11:41 p.m. that she finally looked at the camera and said, 「A happy day is over.」
The vlog offered a closer view of the pace behind He Yi’s public appearances in Hong Kong and captured her latest comments on Binance’s user ambitions and long-term positioning.
