According to data from BitcoinTreasuries.NET, Canada-based publicly traded Bitcoin mining company Hive Digital sold 331 BTC during the first quarter of 2026. The move has trimmed its total Bitcoin holdings to just 150 BTC. A reverse calculation based on the disclosed figures suggests that prior to this sale, Hive Digital held approximately 481 BTC, marking a reduction of roughly 68.8%.

Bitcoin miners typically need to liquidate a portion of their mined coins regularly to cover operational costs such as electricity, hardware maintenance, and business expansion, all of which require fiat payments. Hive Digital's sale of over two-thirds of its holdings in a single quarter reflects a routine cash management practice. Such sell-offs are common across the mining sector and represent a necessary mechanism for publicly listed firms to maintain operational liquidity.

Hive Digital is listed on both the Nasdaq and Toronto Stock Exchange, positioning itself as one of the early crypto mining companies to access public capital markets. Although its Bitcoin reserves have now dropped to 150 BTC, the company continues to hold a meaningful amount of the cryptocurrency, signaling its long-term commitment to the digital asset ecosystem. Industry observers typically view this type of divestment as an operational sale rather than a bearish signal. As of press time, Hive Digital has not disclosed further details on the timing or pricing of the transaction.
