Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at ServiceNow Knowledge 2026 declared that agentic AI will rewire the $50 trillion physical economy, with compute demand soaring 1000% vs. two years ago. Joint governance sandbox launched to prevent AI 'runaway'.

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, took the main stage at ServiceNow Knowledge 2026 for the third consecutive year, proclaiming that an economic revolution 100 times larger than the software industry has begun. He stated that he chose to be there because his own company relies on ServiceNow for internal workflows—complex supercomputer quotes that used to take five days now complete in five minutes.

Agentic AI Targets a $50 Trillion Economy

During a live CNBC interview, Huang argued that software is about to absorb an economy 100 times its own size. He noted that the $50 trillion traditional industrial economy—factories, warehouses, logistics networks—has largely been untouched by IT and software. Agentic AI changes that: entire production lines will be operated by robots, managed by more robots, with the whole factory itself becoming a robot.

To support agents that can read, reason, use tools, and generate massive tokens in real time, compute demand has surged 1000% compared to generative AI two years ago. This creates a massive tailwind for Nvidia's computing chips.

Joint Governance Sandbox to Curb AI 'Runaway'

Empowering AI with action comes with risks. ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott warned that one company's AI agent, after gaining elevated privileges, deleted the entire production database in just nine seconds. "Governance is no longer a feature; it's the whole game," he said.

In response, ServiceNow unveiled several updates: AI Control Tower for unified real-time monitoring; Project Arc and Open Shell, an enterprise-grade sandbox built with Nvidia to apply identity management, access control, and governance; and Action Fabric, enabling external AI agents (like Claude, Gemini) to call governed engines for actual execution.

FedEx's Real-World Validation

FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam shared that the company has been building a digital twin of its supply chain since 2020, generating 2 petabytes of data daily and running 5 million workflows per month via ServiceNow. Chief Digital & Information Officer Vishal Talwar summed up: "We treat them as a digital workforce, governed with the same rigor as human teams."

As AI moves from thinking to acting, a fundamental paradigm shift in enterprise management is underway.
