TRON founder Justin Sun used a virtual keynote at Japan’s WebX 2026 conference to outline how he sees blockchain infrastructure fitting into the next phase of AI. He said that as AI agents move beyond decision-making into autonomous transactions, they will need verifiable digital identities, on-chain payment rails, asset management tools and trusted settlement systems. Sun said TRON is positioning its stablecoin network and ecosystem initiatives including B.AI and Bank of AI to support that shift. In the speech, Sun also shared a set of network metrics. He said TRON has more than 390 million on-chain accounts and over $26 billion in total value locked, while the network handles nearly 13 million transactions per day and more than $24 billion in daily transfer volume. He added that TRON protocol revenue exceeded $3.4 billion in 2025 and that USDT circulating on TRON is about $90 billion. Sun also pointed to security and compliance efforts. He said the T3 Financial Crime Unit, launched in September 2024 by TRON, Tether and TRM Labs, has analyzed millions of transactions, monitored more than $3 billion in funds and helped freeze about $450 million in illicit assets across five continents.

TRON founder Justin Sun said in a virtual keynote at Japan’s WebX 2026 conference that AI agents are creating a new set of infrastructure demands for blockchain networks, with digital identity, on-chain payments, asset management and trusted settlement moving to the center as agents gain the ability to make decisions and transact on their own.

Sun framed the shift as a convergence between two tracks that had developed largely in parallel for years. In his telling, blockchain built open networks for value transfer, asset ownership and settlement, while artificial intelligence kept advancing in information processing, decision-making and the automation of complex tasks. Now that AI agents are starting to handle search, reasoning, negotiation and coordinated execution, he said, the two are beginning to meet.

He argued that intelligence alone is not enough if AI agents are to participate in real economic activity. They also need verifiable digital identities, independent fund management, open payment channels and trusted mechanisms for interacting with data, computing power and financial services. Sun said blockchain’s programmable settlement, transparent records and permissionless access can give agents the ability to hold and transfer digital assets, execute on-chain transactions and take part in the digital economy in a verifiable way.

B.AI and Bank of AI

Against that backdrop, Sun said the TRON ecosystem is pushing ahead with infrastructure projects including B.AI and Bank of AI.

According to his remarks, B.AI is built on the TRON blockchain and is designed to give AI agents identity, treasury management and autonomous transaction capabilities. Its stated goal is to connect agents with financial systems, digital services and computing resources. Bank of AI is focused on financial infrastructure and is intended to support on-chain payments, identity verification and DeFi interactions for AI agents on TRON and BNB Chain.

Sun said those efforts reflect the potential of open blockchain networks to host a new class of intelligent economic activity. As demand from AI agents for identity, payments and reliable transaction channels keeps growing, he said TRON is looking to extend the infrastructure advantages it already has in stablecoin circulation and on-chain settlement.

Network figures disclosed in the keynote

Sun also shared a set of operating figures for the network. He said TRON now has more than 390 million on-chain accounts and more than $26 billion in total value locked. The network processes nearly 13 million transactions a day and handles more than $24 billion in average daily transfer volume. He added that TRON protocol revenue topped $3.4 billion in 2025.

Stablecoins, he said, remain a core driver of activity on the network. Sun described TRON as the leading blockchain network by cumulative USDT transaction volume and daily active users, and said USDT circulating on TRON stands at about $90 billion. He said demand for frequent, low-cost and globally available stablecoin transfers has laid the groundwork for TRON’s role in digital payments, cross-border settlement and the AI agent economy.

T3 FCU data

As TRON expands its infrastructure footprint, Sun said the network is also strengthening security and compliance coordination. He noted that in September 2024, TRON joined Tether and TRM Labs to launch the T3 Financial Crime Unit, or T3 FCU.

Since its formation, Sun said, T3 FCU has analyzed millions of transactions worldwide, monitored more than $3 billion in funds and helped freeze illicit assets worth about $450 million across five continents.

View on a unified financial system

Sun said the financial system ahead will combine the mature capabilities of traditional finance with the openness and efficiency of blockchain networks, supporting global payments, digital commerce, decentralized finance and new forms of AI-driven economic activity.

He added that this process cannot be completed by any single company or network acting alone. In his remarks, he called for long-term cooperation among blockchain, artificial intelligence, financial institutions and regulatory stakeholders to build a more open, efficient and trusted global financial infrastructure.
