Following the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) approval of Bitcoin perpetual contracts last Friday, prediction market platform Kalshi has quickly filed self-certification applications for 12 major altcoin perpetuals, according to Decrypt.

The assets in the applications include Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Stellar, Chainlink, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Sui, Shiba Inu, Polkadot, and Hedera.

While approving Bitcoin perpetuals, the CFTC indicated that perpetual contracts for other digital assets would undergo case-by-case review. As a result, Kalshi's batch of applications has not yet received approval. In the self-certification process, an exchange submits documentation asserting that the new product complies with the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC regulations; the product may be listed unless the regulator raises objections within a specified review period.
