Kite has announced the launch of its mainnet alongside Kite Agent Passport, marking its move from testnet into a production environment focused on payments for autonomous AI agents. The company says the new infrastructure is designed to give agents a verifiable identity layer, programmable wallet capabilities, and a native settlement mechanism for transactions carried out on behalf of users.
The rollout positions Kite at the intersection of AI automation and digital payments, where software agents are expected to do more than generate text or recommendations. In Kite’s model, agents can also complete commercial actions such as making purchases, interacting with service providers, and handling payment flows under user-defined rules.
A Three-Layer Stack for Agent-Driven Transactions
According to the announcement, the platform combines three components into a single stack: Kite Chain as the native settlement layer, Kite Agent Passport as the core identity and wallet service for agents, and an Agent Interface & Experience layer for registration, orchestration, and service discovery.

On the funding side, Kite disclosed that it has raised $35 million, led by PayPal Ventures and General Catalyst.
