Crypto investor and YouTuber Lark Davis said in a video interview with Bitcoin Magazine that Bitcoin may already have formed a market bottom at $57,000, even as the asset continues to trade sideways in the $80,000 range. Citing more than a dozen on-chain and technical indicators, including record whale accumulation and the two-week MACD, Davis argued that the next major cycle is approaching and that the market remains in the early stage of a new bull run. He said opportunities remain in both Bitcoin and altcoins, while noting that Bitcoin continues to dominate ETF inflows. Davis also pointed to ETF inflows as a share of market capitalization as another way to read the market. In discussing whether the traditional four-year cycle has broken down, he compared Bitcoin’s current setup with the development of gold ETFs and said ETFs are changing Bitcoin’s market structure. Davis also described the latest bear market as the shortest and shallowest on record, adding that painful past downturns have made investors reluctant to believe conditions are improving. He also referenced the prospects for a U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserve and the Clarity Act, saying that putting a Bitcoin reserve into law would add legitimacy to the asset.

According to Bitcoin Magazine, crypto investor and YouTuber Lark Davis said in a video interview with the outlet that Bitcoin may be nearing its next major cycle even though it is still moving sideways in the $80,000 range.

Davis said he based that view on more than a dozen on-chain and technical indicators. He specifically cited record whale accumulation and the two-week MACD, and said those signals suggest the market bottom was formed at $57,000.

Early-stage bull market call

Davis said the market is still in the early stage of a new bull run, adding that both Bitcoin and altcoins still offer opportunities.

He also said Bitcoin continues to dominate ETF inflows. In the interview, he pointed to ETF inflows as a share of market capitalization as another lens for evaluating market conditions.

ETF impact and the four-year cycle debate

On the question of whether the four-year cycle has stopped working, Davis drew a comparison with the development path of gold ETFs and said ETFs are changing Bitcoin’s market structure.

He also described the current bear market as the shortest and shallowest in history. At the same time, he said traumatic experiences from past bear markets have made investors slow to believe that conditions could improve.

Regulatory outlook in the U.S.

Davis also touched on the regulatory outlook, including a proposed U.S. strategic Bitcoin reserve and the Clarity Act. He said that if a Bitcoin reserve were written into law, it would add legitimacy to Bitcoin.
