MediaTek reported August 2026 consolidated revenue of NT$64.183 billion, up 32.41% from July and 44.08% from a year earlier, setting a new monthly record, according to ABMedia. Revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$413.991 billion, a 5.76% annual increase. The company is scheduled to unveil its Dimensity 9600 series at 14:30 on Sept. 15, with the Dimensity 9600 Pro described by the report as the first Android flagship platform built on TSMC’s second-generation 2 nm N2P process. The standard Dimensity 9600 will use an enhanced 3 nm process. ABMedia also said NVIDIA invested $3.5 billion as a strategic investor to subscribe to MediaTek’s overseas exchangeable corporate bonds, extending cooperation from smart automotive cockpit and AI PC projects to custom cloud ASIC development. The report added that Citi has set a target price of NT$6,800 for MediaTek shares. As of the Sept. 10 close, the stock stood at NT$4,720, up 21% over the past month, while analysts cited in the report said the company is close to clearing the low end of its third-quarter guidance.

MediaTek reported record August revenue and is preparing to launch its next flagship mobile chip lineup on Sept. 15, as investors also weigh a $3.5 billion strategic investment from NVIDIA and rising price targets from foreign institutions, according to ABMedia.

August revenue hits a monthly record

MediaTek said on Sept. 10 that its consolidated revenue for August 2026 reached NT$64.183 billion. That was up 32.41% from the previous month and 44.08% from a year earlier, setting a new record for a single month. Revenue for the first eight months of the year totaled NT$413.991 billion, up 5.76% year over year.

ABMedia cited institutional analysis saying MediaTek generated NT$112.658 billion in combined revenue in July and August. Based on that figure, the company would need about NT$39.5 billion in September to clear the low end of its third-quarter guidance. The report said those numbers have helped ease concern over the so-called September curse in Taiwan equities.

Dimensity 9600 series set for Sept. 15 debut

MediaTek is scheduled to hold a flagship product launch event at 14:30 on Sept. 15, where it will formally introduce the Dimensity 9600 series. The lineup will follow a two-track strategy.

  • Dimensity 9600 Pro: The top-end version will be the first to use TSMC’s second-generation 2 nm N2P process. ABMedia described it as the first 2 nm flagship platform in the Android camp. It is set to debut in the vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max, with support for next-generation LPDDR6 memory, UFS 5.0 flash storage, and on-device Agentic AI computing.
  • Dimensity 9600: The standard version will use TSMC’s enhanced 3 nm process and will first appear in the standard vivo X500. The report said later adoptions will include OPPO Find series and Redmi K series flagship models.

ABMedia, citing supply chain sources, said handset brands have already stepped up orders to prepare for the second-half flagship replacement cycle. The report framed that as a key support for stronger MediaTek revenue in the second half of the year.

NVIDIA investment expands the AI chip narrative

The report said NVIDIA, acting as a strategic investor, subscribed in early September to $3.5 billion of MediaTek overseas exchangeable corporate bonds, equivalent to more than NT$110 billion. ABMedia said the move extends cooperation between the two companies from smart automotive cockpit and AI PC work into the ecosystem for custom cloud computing chips, or ASICs.

According to the report, institutions are no longer valuing MediaTek only as a consumer electronics chip supplier. Instead, they are increasingly viewing the company as a broader semiconductor player with capabilities in both edge AI and cloud ASIC computing.

Shares close at NT$4,720 as Citi sets NT$6,800 target

ABMedia said MediaTek shares closed at NT$4,720 on Sept. 10, after gaining 21% over the past month and outperforming the broader market.

The company has also been taking part in investor meetings hosted by international institutions including Macquarie, UBS, CTBC, and Merrill in September, the report said, adding that foreign investors and domestic investment trusts have continued to buy the stock. Citi has set a target price of NT$6,800.

On the technical side, ABMedia said the stock had previously pulled back from NT$4,970 before establishing a base, with moving averages turning upward and trading volume breaking through a key neckline. Senior analyst Chang Chen-wei said in the report that with the Sept. 15 flagship chip launch and more international investor briefings ahead, the probability of the stock challenging and breaking its previous high of NT$4,970 is considerable.
