According to Techub News, blockchain project Monad stated that AI agents are emerging as new economic participants, and stablecoins are poised to become the payment infrastructure for the machine economy. The article points out that traditional financial infrastructure is built around human-centered designs (such as KYC, banking hours, manual approvals), which cannot support the millisecond-level, round-the-clock, cross-jurisdictional transaction demands of AI agents.
In contrast, stablecoins are designed specifically for software-to-software interaction, featuring API-first architecture, instant settlement, and borderless transferability — no need for correspondent banks or foreign exchange routing. This makes them a natural fit as the value exchange medium among AI agents. Monad emphasizes that blockchain serves as the underlying engine, providing a decentralized trust layer for this new economic paradigm.
