According to Techub, MoneyGram has officially announced its participation in the Solana blockchain as a validator node, taking on roles in transaction processing and network security. This move signals deeper integration of traditional payment institutions into decentralized infrastructure.

MoneyGram has been active in the crypto payment space recently. Earlier this month, it launched its native stablecoin MGUSD on the Stellar blockchain, further expanding its cryptocurrency payment infrastructure. In addition, MoneyGram joined the Solana Developer Platform program, designed to assist institutions in building financial products on the Solana blockchain. The company stated its strategy is to build on open blockchain networks rather than relying on a single chain; it previously joined the payment blockchain Tempo as an anchor validator.
