MoonPay, a crypto payment infrastructure company, announced the acquisition of Entendre, an AI accounting startup, marking its expansion from fiat on-ramp and off-ramp services into enterprise back-office financial operations. The move is aimed at leveraging automation to enhance financial efficiency and support the mass adoption of stablecoins.
Core of the Deal: AI Accounting Agents
Entendre develops AI-powered accounting agents designed to automate financial operations for high-frequency crypto and fintech firms. These agents handle reconciliation, treasury management, month-end close, journal entries, and other critical tasks. MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright stated that for enterprises to adopt stablecoins at scale, their financial operations must possess the same speed, contextual understanding, and automation capabilities as payments. Traditional manual processes are insufficient for the high-speed demands of crypto transactions, making AI agents a natural fit.
Following the acquisition, Entendre's platform and team will be immediately integrated into MoonPay, with no impact on existing clients. Entendre's customer base includes notable crypto projects such as Polygon Labs, Thirdweb, Brale, Babylon Labs, Ostium, Courtyard, and DoubleZero, spanning L1/L2 blockchains, development tools, stablecoin issuance, and restaking protocols.

In addition to Entendre, it has acquired Decent.xyz (cross-chain routing and liquidity), DFlow (Solana trading infrastructure), Dawn (AI trading tools), and Sodot (crypto key management).
