Multicoin Capital partner Tushar Jain said he spoke at the first meeting of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Innovation Advisory Committee and presented three proposals to CFTC Chair Selig. His suggestions covered a safe harbor or innovation exemption for new markets such as computational derivatives, support for compliant privacy tools in decentralized finance, and backing for pre-IPO perpetual futures. Jain said the goal of the first proposal was to let builders test ideas within a compliant framework. On DeFi, he argued that compliant privacy tools could give regulators greater visibility for managing systemic risk while still protecting the privacy of institutional traders. He also called for support for pre-IPO perpetual futures so ordinary Americans could participate in AI wealth creation instead of being shut out by private markets or pushed into opaque special purpose vehicles, or SPVs. Jain added that he also spoke with SEC Chair Paul Atkins that day and thanked forward-looking regulators focused on the future of the United States.

Multicoin Capital partner Tushar Jain said he spoke at the first meeting of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Innovation Advisory Committee and presented three proposals to CFTC Chair Selig.

According to Jain, the proposals included creating a safe harbor or innovation exemption for new markets such as computational derivatives, allowing builders to test ideas within a compliant structure. He also called for support for compliant privacy tools in decentralized finance, or DeFi, saying they could provide regulators with greater transparency for managing systemic risk while protecting the privacy of institutional traders.

Jain also urged support for pre-IPO perpetual futures, arguing that ordinary Americans should be able to share in AI wealth creation instead of being excluded by private markets or forced into opaque SPVs.

He added that he also spoke with SEC Chair Paul Atkins that day and thanked forward-looking regulators focused on the future of the United States.
