The week of June 22 to June 28 brings together macroeconomic data, technology-sector events, digital finance policy discussions and blockchain infrastructure updates. Last week, the United States and Iran signed a preliminary agreement, creating room to extend a ceasefire, restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and advance follow-up nuclear talks. As a result, investors’ expectations for a further easing of Middle East tensions rose noticeably. In parallel, SpaceX’s planned bond issuance, Micron Technology’s earnings release, US economic indicators, a US House roundtable on digital finance and Base’s mainnet Beryl hard fork are all scheduled or flagged as items to follow during the week.

Base, the Layer 2 network under Coinbase, is preparing to launch the Beryl hard fork. The upgrade introduces the B20 native token standard, shortens the final confirmation period for single-proof withdrawals from seven days to five days, and upgrades to Reth V2. The Reth V2 upgrade reduces disk usage by 50% and increases throughput by 33%. Beryl is scheduled to activate on the Sepolia testnet at 2:00 a.m. UTC+8 on June 19 and on the mainnet at 2:00 a.m. UTC+8 on June 26.

B20 is Base’s native token standard. It is an ERC-20 compatible token implemented with Rust precompiles and designed for stablecoin, RWA and long-tail token issuers. The standard includes a built-in compliance toolkit, covering transfer policies, freezing and seizure, role-based access control, memos and supply caps. For withdrawals, the final judgment window for the single-evidence dispute resolution process will be reduced from seven days to five days. The dual-proof fast path introduced by Azul, based on TEE and ZK, remains at one day.

Among items without a confirmed date, sources said SpaceX’s partner banking team may begin investor calls as soon as next week to discuss a bond issuance plan after the company completes a record IPO. According to the sources, the bond sale is expected to be at least $20 billion, with investor communication starting as early as Monday. The plan and timing may still change. SpaceX plans to issue investment-grade US dollar bonds for the first time, using the proceeds to refinance a $20 billion bridge loan due in September 2027. The IPO filing submitted by SpaceX to the US Securities and Exchange Commission shows that, as of March 31, the bridge loan accounted for the majority of the company’s $29.1 billion in long-term debt. Sources said Bank of America, Citi, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley jointly provided the bridge loan and will lead the underwriting of the bond issuance.
