NFT sales volume fell to $74.88 million over the past seven days, a 38.25% drop from the previous period. The decline in dollar volume came even as activity expanded across the market. Buyers rose to 242,824, up 29.75%, sellers climbed to 217,181, up 32.02%, and total transactions increased to 726,723, a gain of 8.29%.
The pullback came during a broader crypto market decline. Bitcoin fell to the $83,000 level, Ethereum slipped below $2,700, and total crypto market capitalization dropped to $2.83 trillion from $3.02 trillion a week earlier. NFT trading weakened during the same stretch.
Ethereum keeps the lead while Bitcoin posts the steepest drop
Ethereum remained the top blockchain for NFT sales with $46.92 million in weekly volume, though that figure was down 38.78%. The chain attracted 28,096 buyers, an increase of 18.26%. Wash trading on Ethereum reached $4.94 million during the period.
Bitcoin ranked second with $6.46 million in sales, but recorded the sharpest decline among major chains. Weekly volume on Bitcoin NFTs fell 71.12%. Even so, the number of buyers on the network rose to 10,905, up 30.87%. Volume and participation moved in opposite directions.
BNB Chain placed third with $4.95 million in sales, down 34.99%, while buyer count rose to 32,721, up 32.03%. Base took fourth place with $4.24 million, one of the few networks to post growth, rising 34.54% with 78,759 buyers, up 18.90%. Immutable followed with $3.26 million, down 12.05%, and Solana rounded out the top six with $2.77 million, a decline of 11.30%.
Collection rankings show sharp divergence
Flying Tulip PUT on Ethereum held the top spot among collections with $22.39 million in weekly sales, though that total fell 56.59% from the prior week. The collection recorded 898 transactions from 432 buyers, while the number of sellers jumped to 51, up 292.31%.
Moonbirds ranked second with $3.89 million in sales and posted one of the strongest weekly moves, up 108.91%. It logged 1,737 transactions, a surge of 538.60%, with 412 buyers, up 219.38%. Pudgy Penguins came in third at $2.28 million, rising 23.11%.
Meld Bank Manager v on Cardano placed fourth with $2.01 million in sales, all from a single transaction. Guild of Guardians Heroes posted $1.93 million, down 16.21%. CryptoPunks closed the top six with $1.91 million in sales, falling 52.35% after a 46.74% recovery in the previous week.
Cardano records the largest individual NFT sale of the week
The highest-value NFT sale of the week came from Meld Bank Manager v on Cardano, which sold five days ago for $2.01 million, or 5,907,801.2774 ADA. That single trade accounted for the collection’s entire weekly volume. The second-largest sale was a $X@AI BRC-20 NFT on Bitcoin, sold six days ago for $1.36 million, equal to 15.3783 BTC.
Known Origin #88517 sold for $199,771, or 69 ETH. CryptoPunks took two spots in the top five individual sales: CryptoPunks #8804 changed hands six days ago for $186,431 or 63 ETH, and CryptoPunks #5405 sold four days ago for $185,602, equivalent to 63.99 ETH.
