Techub News reported that Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology has launched Omanhash, a national Bitcoin mining pool. According to the report, licensed miners within Oman are required to connect to the official pool for Bitcoin mining operations, with the first phase expected to consolidate about 10 EH/s of hashrate.
Official Pool Structure and Local Operations
The Omanhash mining pool uses a technical platform provided by Enegix Global, while Frontier Technologies is responsible for local operations. This structure separates the technology platform from on-the-ground implementation, placing licensed miners’ access, hashrate aggregation, and operating processes within a formalized framework.
The report said the move reflects Oman’s strategy of regulating Bitcoin mining rather than prohibiting it. By using an official system to standardize mining activity, Oman aims to strengthen regulatory transparency over domestic hashrate allocation and energy use. The original report cited crypto.news as the source.
