ChainCatcher reported, citing monitoring data from Onchain Lens, that a whale has opened a 20x leveraged short position on Ethereum. The current position holds 23,000 ETH, with a position value of $39.64 million and a liquidation price of $1,832.43.
The whale has made over $3.15 million since June 10
Onchain Lens data also shows that since June 10, the whale has earned more than $3.15 million through ETH long and short trades. The latest disclosed position is an Ethereum short, a trading direction generally associated with betting on a decline in the underlying asset’s price. With 20x leverage, both gains and losses on the position are amplified relative to the margin used.
The liquidation price of $1,832.43 is one of the key risk parameters for the leveraged position. If the margin is no longer sufficient to maintain the position, the trade can face forced liquidation. The address has already accumulated profits through ETH long and short trades, while the current position size and leverage level were recorded by Onchain Lens and reported by ChainCatcher.
