Odaily reported that Ondo Finance said in a post on X that it has entered into a partnership with Mirae Asset, South Korea’s largest asset management company. According to Ondo, the two parties will use the Ondo Global Markets platform to advance the tokenization of Mirae Asset’s Global X ETF product line.
Mirae Asset to Bring Existing ETF Products On-Chain
Ondo stated that Mirae Asset will become the first asset manager in Asia to bring an existing ETF product line on-chain. The cooperation is centered on the Global X ETF lineup, with the main arrangement being to tokenize the relevant ETF products through Ondo Global Markets. This connects traditional asset management products with on-chain capital markets infrastructure.
The first batch will cover 10 Global X ETFs. Ondo said these ETFs span areas including artificial intelligence and technology, blockchain and digital assets, robotics and space innovation, lithium and silver, defense technology, and covered call income strategies. Based on the categories disclosed by Ondo, the initial scope is not limited to one single theme, but extends across technology, digital asset-related themes, commodity-related exposure, defense technology, and income strategy products.
Ondo Frames Asset Management as Part of Financial Tokenization
In its announcement, Ondo said the asset management industry is becoming one of the important directions in the transformation of financial tokenization. The company also stated that the next generation of capital markets infrastructure is being built on-chain, while traditional institutions that defined the previous generation of the financial system are also beginning to embrace this trend.
The public information about the cooperation comes from Ondo Finance’s post on X. According to that disclosure, the parties involved are Ondo Finance and Mirae Asset, the platform being used is Ondo Global Markets, and the products involved are Mirae Asset’s Global X ETF lineup. The first phase includes 10 ETFs and is aimed at bringing these ETF products into an on-chain tokenized setting.
