PANews on Thursday released its Top 10 ranking for column articles published in August 2026, saying the list was compiled from all column content on the platform using a combined evaluation of content quality and readership.
Top 10 list for August column articles
The outlet said it also created posters for the five most-read pieces this month to recognize what it described as deep and high-quality content.
No. 1 Tiger Research
Tiger Research, a research, GTM consulting and investment company focused on the Asian Web3 market, ranked first with 「Tiger Research: A closer look at regulatory gaps in Asia’s prediction markets」. The article argued that the lack of clear rules for prediction markets across Asia has pushed tens of millions of dollars to offshore platforms, costing governments tax revenue and leaving retail investors without sufficient protection.
It said Western jurisdictions have already folded such platforms into existing frameworks by classifying them as financial derivatives in the United States or as gambling in the United Kingdom. In Asia, by contrast, state monopolies over gambling and rigid legal definitions for financial products have left prediction markets in a gray area. The piece cited South Korea’s criminal enforcement approach and Japan’s pachinko-like workaround model as examples that have not led to formal legalization.
No. 2 danny
danny, co-founder of Pundi AI, placed second with 「Binance turns into a new weekend battleground for stocks: using Perp to seize pricing power and bStocks to build inventory and correction mechanisms」. The article said Binance is trying to use a combined Perp and bStocks model to compete for price discovery while U.S. stock markets are closed.
Perp, it said, works as the engine for candidate prices because of low cost, high leverage and continuous trading. bStocks acts as the spot inventory layer and supports risk hedging and correction for high-frequency Perp trading through holdings, collateral, on-chain transfers and lending.
No. 3 Zuoye Waiboshan
Zuoye Waiboshan, described as a post-95 entrepreneur fully committed to Web3, ranked third with 「Binance ends the exchange wealth effect, Trump starts a new wave of wealth creation」. The piece said crypto exchanges in 2026 are facing a low point in both liquidity and reputation.
As the TGE boom fades, exchanges are trying to reinvent themselves as all-in-one brokerages by bringing traditional financial assets such as U.S., South Korean and even A-share stocks onto their platforms. The article said that product stacking alone has failed to recreate the expected wealth effect. It added that Coinbase and Robinhood are locked in competition in Western markets, while Chinese-language platforms represented by Binance face growth constraints.
No. 4 Dan Koe
Dan Koe, a solo entrepreneur who moved from web design to freelancing and later to earning income through content and digital products, ranked fourth with 「The counterintuitive truth: you do not need to remember everything you read」. The article focused on learning habits.
It said many people are trapped in what it called "collection anxiety," treating total recall as the same thing as learning. The piece argued that learning is driven by output rather than memorization, and that information important enough will settle through practice. It suggested viewing learning as a feedback loop: set a specific goal, start the project, then acquire knowledge as needed.
No. 5 animajoe
animajoe, whose work tracks artificial intelligence, semiconductors, macroeconomics and crypto tokens, came in fifth with 「When bottlenecks begin to migrate: interconnect, HBM and the repricing of the storage empire」. The article said the storage industry hit a major turning point on Aug. 4, when SK Hynix and SanDisk released a high-bandwidth flash memory standard and Nvidia evaluated lowering HBM configurations.
That shift, the piece said, shows AI infrastructure bottlenecks moving from compute units to the interconnect layer. As 100,000-GPU clusters become more common, demand for data transmission bandwidth is rising sharply, rewriting the value system for storage. Interconnect technologies such as optical-electrical interconnects and advanced packaging were described as the new top priority, while HBM returns to its base role.
No. 6 Tiger Research
Tiger Research appeared again at No. 6 with 「Tiger Research: 700 trillion won has flowed overseas, and South Korea is missing the entire crypto era」. The article said about 700 trillion won moved from South Korea to overseas markets between 2021 and 2026.
It attributed the outflow to the local market’s focus on spot trading, which it said cannot satisfy investor demand for derivatives, prediction markets and payment services. As a result, large amounts of capital shifted to offshore platforms. In 2025 alone, South Korean investors contributed about $3.5 billion in fees to overseas exchanges, according to the article.
No. 7 QQlink
QQlink, a Web3 super app that combines encrypted communication, a multi-chain wallet and AI real-time translation, ranked seventh with 「Fidelity warning: the boom in AI agents may not be a feast for public blockchains」. The article cited U.S. stock market researcher TALK Jun, who said the AI trade is shifting from "hype around hardware" to "verification of profits."
It said Meta’s sale of computing power reflects a supply shortage rather than a bubble, and that Anthropic’s IPO will give the market a clearer view of the path to AI commercialization. For the second half of the year, the article said there is no need for excessive pessimism and suggested a "soft and hard" strategy.
No. 8 Biteye
Biteye, a blockchain research institution and community focused on L1/L2, DeFi, NFT and Web3, ranked eighth with 「Bitcoin and Ether rise together, eight altcoins are worth watching next」. The article said the crypto market has seen a string of positive developments since Trump’s endorsement.
It said Bitcoin approached $77,000 and Ether gained 20% in a single day. Capital may rotate from major tokens to altcoins, but the article said the market is unlikely to see a broad-based rally across every token. In its view, only projects with real users, revenue and strong value capture are likely to absorb the flow.
No. 9 Metrics Ventures
Metrics Ventures, or MVC, a data- and research-driven secondary-market liquidity fund, ranked ninth with 「Metrics Ventures market watch: when currency debasement becomes the norm, how should safe-haven assets be chosen?」. The article said the U.S. Treasury market has already priced in the ineffectiveness of Federal Reserve policy.
Against a backdrop of weakening confidence in the dollar, gold and commodity-resource assets would be first in line to absorb liquidity, it said. The piece also argued that digital assets are unlikely to deliver excess returns in the short term if expectations for marginal AI growth continue to slow, and added that a bull trend in renminbi-denominated assets is already clear, with the STAR 50 among the core assets worth attention.
No. 10 ArkStream Capital
ArkStream Capital, a crypto-native fund focused on accelerating Web3.0 unicorns through investments in digital assets and new financial markets, ranked tenth with 「ArkStream Capital: from AI siphoning to the rise of RWA, capital migration in the crypto market in 2026」. The article said the siphoning effect of U.S. equities on crypto may have peaked in June and that the market may now be in a slow repair phase.
Demand for tokens is weakening, it said, while demand is rising quickly for trading traditional assets through crypto infrastructure. RWA perpetual contracts have already become an important growth engine for exchange business, according to the article.
