Myriad, a decentralized prediction platform, has closed a $12.5 million seed round co-led by Paradigm and Polychain Capital. Other investors include Dragonfly, Robot Ventures, Fundstrat co-founder Tom Lee, NFT collector Blondish, and Pudgy Penguins CEO Luca Netz.

Tech Edge: Tempo Blockchain and AI Market Making

Myriad is built on the Tempo payment blockchain, which went live on mainnet just yesterday (July 22). The platform claims two key advantages: sub-second settlement — using Tempo's fast settlement layer to let users receive payouts almost instantly after an event — and AI-driven market making that dynamically adjusts liquidity depth, particularly for long-tail events where slippage is normally high.

The platform also aggregates liquidity across multiple blockchains, allowing users to participate in predictions directly from different chains without cumbersome cross-chain transfers.

Challenging Polymarket and Kalshi

Myriad aims to take on dominant players Polymarket and Kalshi. CEO Sarah Chen said the platform is not merely a gambling tool but a "crowdsourced truth extraction engine at internet scale." The funds will accelerate product development to break the existing duopoly.

Analysts note that prediction markets have proven their ability to reflect real social sentiment since 2025. With new entrants like Myriad backed by heavy infrastructure and AI, competition is shifting from front-end user experience to trade depth and settlement efficiency.

Myriad has started inviting users for a beta test and plans a global launch in Q2 2026. Meanwhile, as Washington battles with Kalshi over regulation, Myriad's offshore decentralized model offers an alternative with more flexibility for global users.
