Polish President Karol Nawrocki said in a statement that he has vetoed a cryptocurrency regulation bill for the third time. According to Nawrocki, the decision was made because the bill did not adopt views he had previously put forward. He said the Polish government left out most of the amendments proposed by his office during the legislative process.

The Polish parliament passed the bill in May this year. The legislation was designed to regulate the cryptocurrency industry and to implement the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, known as MiCA. Poland needs to complete the relevant legislative approval before July.

Nawrocki had already vetoed similar bills twice before. In the statement, he said he supports regulation of the crypto industry, but rejected the current version because it did not sufficiently include the revisions proposed by his office.
